Hypocrisy

Emperor Obama has been freely trying to provoke class warfare by slamming the owners and operators of corporate jet aircraft. This is hypocritical enough coming from a guy who runs around conducting his political campaigns in a private 747 paid for by the taxpayer (oh yes, “security concerns”) but it goes over my personal limit when Empress Michelle Obama decides she needs to be on vacation a few hours earlier than her husband, and so has the nerve to commandeer a separate military aircraft, and entourage, for her separate trip.

Michelle Obama Thursday traveled separately from President Obama to Martha’s Vineyard, costing taxpayers thousands in additional expenses to get her a few hours of extra vacation time.

Mrs. Obama and her daughters arrived just before 2 pm Thursday on a U.S. government jet, according to the Martha’s Vineyard Times, which got its information from the local airport. The first lady’s office has been silent on her travel. President Obama arrived in the evening along with the family dog Bo.

The extra costs related to Mrs. Obama’s solo trip mainly include the flight on a specially designed military aircraft she took instead of Air Force One, as well as any extra staff and Secret Service that had to be enlisted to go with her. She would also have had her own motorcade from the airport to her vacation residence.

Shameless. “Qu’ils mangent de la brioche” I can hear her muttering. This is the kind of arrogance and pride that goes before a big fall.

Here is a picture of the Emperor himself going to the bookstore:

And his taxpayer-funded campaign bus tour:

No wonder he has a grossly inflated view of his value to the world. Isn’t it time we brought the Imperial Presidency back to a human scale?
