The Last Bubble?

Silver, the speculative darling of metals, is down more than 5% today and even Dr. Copper is down 1.5%. It is looking to me as if we are seeing the beginning of the popping of the commodity bubble. Perhaps folks are realizing that the co-ordinated global slowdown is here, even if it is not visible in the US yet. It is certainly visible in Europe, China and Japan and that is enough to put a real kink in the commodity pipeline. The US will follow soon enough, anyway. Then add in the chilling effect of the still-unresolved MF Global theft and you might just have a recipe for a loud “pop” in January. What we are seeing today could be just the leading edge of a stampede of rats.
