Clouds Dissipating

“Cloud computing” – timesharing re-invented – has been a “hot” technology idea and companies have been beginning to deploy cloud-based services. But now it’s over. Edward Snowden’s revelations that these “clouds” are completely open to government snooping will bring this trend to a grinding halt. No company will wish to expose itself to political blackmail from the security agencies, the IRS, or any of the myriad of agencies that potentially can look through the company’s records. Back to the internal datacenter. One more time.
