Window Dressing

Today being the last day of the trading year, institutions are, as usual, indulging in what is politely called “window dressing.” Of course, the politeness disguises a blatantly illegal practice which should be titled “fraudulent manipulation of portfolios and securities prices with intent to deceive clients and shareholders as to the holdings and performance of funds, institutions and/or managed accounts.”
