Beginning Of A New Era

Today, a company in Burnaby, B.C., announced commercial availability of its 128-qubit quantum computer, the D-Wave One. There is a research blog from the company entitled “Hack The Multiverse” which gives a pretty good idea of how the company’s researchers interpret quantum decoherence.

128 bits should be enough to work real problems. Of course, the D-Wave One is intended to act as a co-processor with a conventional machine. This is exciting.
